Before we start work on your project, you will receive a detailed proposal that includes goals, deliverables and our unique not-to-exceed price quotation.
Ghost Writing: If you have the experience, knowledge and information to write a book, but don’t know how to get the words down (or don’t have the time), consider hiring a ghost writer. Off the Page will work with you closely to organize your thoughts and get your content down on paper while making sure your unique voice and style shine through.
Copy Writing: Off the Page will write compelling content for your marketing pieces: brochures, flyers, e-mails, postcards, ads and more. We can even write your social media posts for you!

Editing
Off the Page specializes in editing nonfiction books, academic materials and website content. Your research papers, annual reports, marketing materials and proposals will also benefit from the eye of an experienced editor. Off the Page offers several levels of editing assistance:
Proofreading: Nothing makes an author’s heart sink more than finding a typo in the book after it’s printed. A skilled proofreader will review your manuscript carefully to make sure there are no errors, and will ensure that the style is consistent. Note that proofreading is best done after a book has been typeset, as errors can emerge during the typesetting process.
Copyediting: More intensive than a proofread, in addition to correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization, we will rework text as necessary to add consistency, clarity and flow.
Substantive Editing: In a substantive edit, attention is focused on the structure of your book or document and its logical flow. The editor will look for repetition and superfluous information and make suggestions to round out the content. The editor will correct writing issues and make sure your text is organized, on-point and succinct. Finally, your manuscript will get a thorough copy edit and proofread. Through a substantive edit, we will make sure that your work is the best it can be while allowing your unique voice and writing style to shine through.
Developmental Editing: Hiring an editor to work with you during the early stages of your book’s development will save you time, money and grief in the long run. A developmental editor will help you clarify your concept, organize your thoughts and structure your content, and create a blueprint for your book around which you can plan your approach and build your manuscript. The developmental editing process includes a thorough copy edit and proofread, and the editor will work with you on your writing style and help you eliminate common writing problems from the get-go.

Book Design and Typesetting: Off the Page will work closely with you to create a professional book design that reflects your intended audience and the message you want to communicate. Your book will then be typeset and you will be provided with a PDF proof of your book (final proofreading by a skilled proofreader is included). Upon request, we will assist you in setting up book printing or print-on-demand services.
